"This year, six AIA Brazos member firms submitted sixteen projects for evaluation in the Chapter’s bi-annual AIA Brazos Design Awards program. The Jury met Saturday, July 30th, to review the submittals at the Allcorn House Bed and Breakfast in Washington County, where five projects were selected to receive awards. The projects represent the work of four firms and a variety of project types, including renovation, new construction, additions, and tenant finish outs. The diversity of work is an excellent reflection of the work and membership of the Chapter." — Elizabeth Price, President-Elect of AIA Brazos

The design awards went to Upchurch Architect, for a pool house in Dallas; Jim Singleton Architects for Texas State Optical in Bryan, Texas; Hawkins Architecture for the Roscoe Collegiate Center for Innovation and Higher Learning in Roscoe, Texas; and to the Arkitex Studio for The Bank & Trust renovation and for the Tremont Building renovation, both in Bryan. We congratulate those who received awards this year, and are honored to be in their company.
