College Station, Texas The Arkitex Studio was tasked to design and addition and renovate a former fire station in southern College Station. Three different users now occupy these buildings: the Texas 4-H State Headquarters, the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation, and regional 4-H clubs. We were directed to make new buildings reflect Texas 4-H, change the appearance so it no longer looked like a fire station and make the new addition look like it was built as part of the original building. A 1,000-square-foot storage mezzanine was added over the existing apparatus bay, which in turn became a meeting room. |
