Intern Amanda joined The Arkitex Studio in August, 2010. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Abilene Christian University in 2005 and a Master of Architecture with a Certificate in Health Systems and Design from Texas A&M University in 2008. While at Texas A&M, she was an active member in the Student Health Environments Association (SHEA) and president of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) Texas A&M chapter. After graduation in 2008, Amanda served as a missions intern in Itu, Brazil where she assisted missionaries Mark and Ali Kaiser with various service activities including the renovation of a local salon and planning for an outdoor juice bar. Currently Amanda serves as a volunteer with I-House Student Ministries, assisting international students with English conversation and learning American culture. |
Amanda is a LEED Accredited Professional. She has passed the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) Exam (certificate number 28170). In addition, she is pursuing her architecture licensing and is currently taking her Architectural Registration Exams (ARE) and completing the Intern Development Program (IDP). Amanda is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects and serves as the current chair of the Emerging Professionals Committee of the AIA Brazos. She recently received a 2010 Herman Miller for Healthcare Intern Architect Scholarship as well as the NCIDQ Reimbursement Award from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Texas/Oklahoma Chapter. |
