Founding Principal

Dr. Elton Abbott has a breadth of experience in information technology, 3D modeling and computer visualization, with eight years experience in the Department of Information Technology, Texas A&M University, where he provided the conceptual design for the high-tech Visitor’s Center in Rudder Tower on the A&M Campus. As a Principal of the Arkitex Studio, Elton has participated in all phases of practice.

He received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma, 1973. His earned Doctorate in Environmental Design is from Texas A&M University, 1983 with emphasis in Health Facilities Design. Elton is a registered architect (#6513 TX), was Director of the Texas Society of Architects in 1997–98, and served as AIA Brazos Chapter President in 1991 and 2008.

Elton was President of the Bryan Rotary Club for 2002-2003. A past member of the Northgate Revitalization Board for College Station and Historic Preservation Committee, Elton also is a past Moderator of the Board of Trustees of the College Station Medical Center. Additionally, he was a member of The College of Architecture Board of Visitors for the University of Oklahoma and a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church.
