Downtown Bryan, Texas A landmark in downtown Bryan, the Astin Building is a four-story, 12,500-square-foot, five-level bank building built in 1915. In 2006, historical research was conducted to determine the original exterior character. The exterior underwent a full restoration, while the interior was completely renovated. The building now houses office space and a sandwich shop. As the client's needs changed, the scope of the project increased substantially; the building's interior now blends historic and modern finishes, and the addition of a back-up power generator safeguards tenants' high-tech work. The Arkitex Studio worked closely with the City of Bryan fire and code officials to successfully resolve several challenging life-safety issues. |
